APPLICATION FAQs
WHO CAN APPLY?
• Applicant must reside in the Sioux Falls area.
• Applicants must be under the age of 21 or still living with parents or a full-time student.
• Applications will not be accepted for school run programs.
• Applicant is in a foster care program or receiving financial assistance (YNF will consider other factors on a case-by-case basis).
WHEN TO APPLY?
• Applications will be reviewed quarterly. Applications are due by the 1st of the month in December, March, June, or September to be considered during that quarter's review period.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS
• For programs that are ongoing throughout the year, YNF will provide funding up to a maximum of 3 months. To continue receiving funding after these 3 months, you must re-apply with a new application.
RE-APPLYING
• To re-apply you must submit a new application form by the quarterly deadline.
• The financial information needs to be updated with each application submission.
HELPFUL INFORMATION
• If you are applying for two or more children at one time, each child must have their own separate application form filled in.
• YNF will provide funding for one sporting activity at a time. That is, for two sports running concurrently, only one application may be submitted. Each applicant is eligible for coverage of more than one sport in a 12-month period as long as the sports are not concurrent.
• Please be sure to include your e-mail contact information on every form submitted so that we can inform you when your application has been approved or denied.
• If checking the status of your application, please wait at least 2 weeks from submission.
• Applications are not considered complete and received until ALL information is received.
• A payment will be sent directly to the sports organization within 2 weeks of being approved.
• If your child does not participate in the sporting program funded by YNF at any time, please notify YNF immediately.
• Non-participation in YNF funded activities may result in barring of future funding requests.

• Review your application for eligibility, required information and financial documents (Incomplete forms will not be processed).
• Contact the sports organization to confirm the applicant is registered/able to register and confirm registration fees.
• Notify you of our decision via e-mail. If you do not use e-mail we will contact via telephone.
• Will send payment to sport organization.
